Avalanche Awareness PresentationJan 24, 7:00pm, Sports Basement Walnut CreekJoin us for an informative and free multi-media presentation on avalanches.
We'll discuss avalanche rescue, The avalanche advisory, terrain choices and considerations, some of the clues to instability in the snowpack, some ways weather affects avalanches and necessary equipment everyone should have while venturing into the backcountry.
The presentation starts at 7:00 and goes to 7:30 or so.
This presentation serves as a great introduction to these concepts, but is by no means exhaustive. We higly recommend taking an AIARE Level I course to anyone who is going into the backcountry.
This presentation is delivered by Richard Bothwell, our head avalanche educator. Richard is an AIARE level I and II avalanche instructor and holds a Level III certificate. He loves sharing his knowledge and makes learning fun and interesting.
Let us know if you'd like to have this presentation delivered to your group. We'd be happy to set up a private presentation just for you.
