Backpack Smith Peak in Yosemite June 12-13
The Outdoor Adventure Club trip to Smith Peak is always an early season favorite. The high point of the trip, literally and figuratively, is the view from the summit of Smith Peak. The views of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne, the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, and the lofty peaks of the Sierra Nevada surround you once you have made it to the top. Last time we were there, several courageous campers slept under the stars on the rocky summit. I highly recommend it! The hike up to Smith Peak is 7 1/2 miles long, and gains 3150 feet of elevation along the way. This is considered a moderate trip. The Outdoor Adventure Club guides will be cooking up some great meals on the trip. Be ready to eat well as we spend the weekend in the woods, and let us know if you have any dietary considerations. We are happy to accommodate just about any diet. A thorough trip description will be sent with your confirmation. The details will include when and where to meet, what to bring, and more of what to expect.
