Surf School for beginners in Bolinas, Followed by Beach BBQ!

You're in California so you have to at least try surfing!
Spend the day in Bolinas enjoying the beach and learning to surf.
After surfing, we'll hang on the beach or in town into the evening. It should be a great day to surf and meet other club members.
If you want to learn to surf this is the day! Total beginners are welcome and will start their day with a 2-hour lesson. After the lesson, you'll be able to hang on to your board for the afternoon and practice your newfound skills.
Our beginner lesson includes all the gear you'll need- board, wetsuit and booties.
The lesson starts on the beach as you learn how to paddle, where to stand on the board, surfing etiquette, and more. We'll practice a few pop-ups on the beach, and then it's out into the surf! We'll have instructors in the water with you to help you find your position on the board and help you select and paddle for your first waves.
Whether you stand up, ride in on your knees, or lying down, once you feel the push of a wave you'll be hooked!
Today's lessons are from 11-1. Class is limited to 10 students.
After class, we'll have a BBQ picnic on the beach. Those who wish can then go back into the water and surf as long as they like on their own. You will have the gear available to you for as long as you like without extra cost.
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T NEED LESSONS: Come on out! You can either bring your own gear if you have it, or let us know when you reserve that you need rentals. We have prices for both. And what's in it for you? OAC will introduce you to other surfers and wanna-be-surfers in the club, provide a beach BBQ lunch, and a great reason for you to get out for the day. No need to stay away from the OAC surf scene just because you already know how to surf.
Includes:
Full day with lessons includes:
• Surf lesson with the OAC group meeting at 10:45 am
• Surfboard, wetsuit and booties for the lesson. It is possible to rent the gear all day for an additional fee.
• A BBQ picnic with burgers and dogs, and vegetarian options
• General beach-style hanging out with other Outdoor Adventure Club folks after your surfing. Depending on wind and beach conditions, we can play volleyball, frisbee, or head back into the water on your own.
Package with Gear Rentals but No Lessons:
• Foam board (other boards available for a slightly higher fee), wetsuit, booties
• Snacks and beverages picnic-on-the-beach for after your lessons
• General beach-style hanging out with OACers after your surfing. Depending on wind and beach conditions, we can play frisbee, or head back into the water on your own.
