Fast and Light Backpacking in Yosemite- Vogelsang- Lyell Canyon
August 5-6 The high Sierra near Vogelsang is some of the most beautiful hiking within a day's walk from a trailhead. Alpine lakes, rocky passes, and granite peaks surround you.
The trail is a little over 19 miles, and we'll be splitting it up pretty evenly over two days.
We've chosen to offer this trip in "fast and light" style so you can get a chance to experience the difference saving 10-20 pounds makes. You'll be surprised how much easier it is to cover the distance with less of a load on your back. Having the professional guides of the Outdoor Adventure Club with you will help you gain confidence as you go out with fewer things in your pack than you ever have before.
We'll be requiring light weight systems for everyone on the trip. The Outdoor Adventure Club has packs and tents available for rent that are appropriate for the trip. We can also help you with your gear selection if you prefer to purchase your own.
Includes:
- 2 days of backpacking, guided by the professional guides of the Outdoor Adventure Club
- The following meals: Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch
- All necessary permits
- Group kitchen gear
- Group first aid kit, carried by a Wilderness First Responder
- Bear resistant containers for food
- Water treatment system for the group
