Backpack over Clouds Rest to Yosemite Valley - 3 Days Midweek
August 3-5, 2010
Register for this trip here! SOLD OUT- WAITING LIST ONLY
Take a beautiful walk in the woods! Our trail this weekend will take us from the alpine meadows of the Tuolumne area of Yosemite, over Clouds Rest where we'll have massive views down Tenaya Canyon, to a campsite on the John Muir Trail, just uphill of the Half Dome trail. After spending the night in Half Dome's shadow, we'll wake up and continue the journey to Little Yosemite Valley, past Nevada and Vernal Falls, until we arrive at our goal, Yosemite Valley.
BONUS HALF DOME HIKE! On Sunday morning you'll have the option of getting up early and hiking to the top of Half Dome, or having a relaxing breakfast in camp. The trail covers about 16 miles of beautiful terrain, which we'll split over the course of three days.
The Trip:
This trip is great for both beginner and more experienced backpackers. The trail starts out uphill, but it's mostly moderate downhill, which makes the distances easier to cover. It's a treat for newer backpackers, while the views and camping will be a treat to even the most seasoned backpacker.
We'll meet at our camp site in the evening, and shuttle our cars in Yosemite Valley. In the morning we'll arrange a private shuttle up to the trailhead. When we get off the trail, we'll be close to our cars, as well as pizza!
The Outdoor Adventure Club guides will be cooking up some great meals on the trip. Be ready to eat well as we spend the weekend in the woods. Let us know if you have any dietary considerations. We are happy to accommodate just about any diet.
A thorough trip description will be sent with your confirmation. The details will include when and where to meet, what to bring, and more of what to expect.
