Hiking and Camping Weekend in Yosemite- July 4 in Tuolumne MeadowsJuly 2-4, 2010
Relax, kick back and spend the holiday weekend camping amid the trees, lakes and peaks of Yosemite National Park. The professional guides of the OAC will take care of all the details so you just need to sign up, show up, and have fun.
We'll be car camping so we can bring (almost) all the comforts of home. Bring your pillows and camp chairs and relax. We have a great campsite with plenty of room, situated close to a lake. It's going to be a great weekend!
The Outdoor Adventure Club guides will be cooking up some great meals on the trip. Be ready to eat well as we spend the weekend in the woods, and let us know if you have any dietary considerations. We are happy to accommodate just about any diet.
During the days we'll head out for day hikes in the Tuolumne area of Yosemite National Park. We'll pick our day hike destinations based on the experience and enthusiasm of the group. Your experienced OAC guides know all the great trails in the area, and we'll have a great hike each day.
Back in camp we'll take care of all the food for the weekend and all the group gear. You'll need personal gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc) but we'll take care of all the kitchen equipment necessary for a great weekend.
The Trip: On Friday evening, we'll meet at the park and set up camp.
On Saturday we'll take a hike right from our campsite during the day. We can take it easy or make it a full day hike in the area. There are many hikes to choose from! In the evening, we'll return to camp and the OAC guides will whip up a fantastic camp side dinner. We might even take a evening hike so bring your headlamps.
On Sunday, we'll strike out for the summit of Lassen Peak. The hike to its summit is a five mile round-trip, with 2000 feet of elevation gained on the way to the summit at 10,457 feet! In the evening, we'll once again enjoy dinner and socialize around the campfire. On Monday, we'll wake to a warm breakfast and coffee. You have the option to go on a day hike or just relax and prepare to head back home.
Of course you'll also have the option of doing a whole lot of nothing all weekend. Bring a comfortable chair and and book and just chill by a nearby lake or go for a swim. Outdoor Adventure Club camping trips are known for great food, and this will be no exception. Let us know if you have any dietary considerations- we're happy to accommodate them if we know.
