Hike to China Hole in Henry Coe Park in the South Bay

November 13, 2011 and February 19, 2012

Hiking at China HoleA sturdy day hike with a great reward, the hike to China Hole will surely be a crowd pleaser.

Tucked deep in a canyon, 5 miles out from the park headquarters, China Hole is a beautiful place to hike to. The junction of two creeks, China hole is a great spot to splash a little water on your face or jump in, assuming the weather is warm. Once you're there, you won't want to leave! Of course that might be because you know the hike back is all uphill!!

The Trip

Our hike will be a semi loop of about 10 miles. The first half of the hike is all downhill, and unfortunately the second half is all up. The temperatures can be very hot in Henry Coe in the summer, so this is a great time of year for this hike. The terrain is hilly so you should be in good hiking shape to take this one on. This will be a real calorie burner!

Along the way your Outdoor Adventure Club guide will show you the way, keep the conversation going, and serve up a great OAC lunch, too!
