Hike in Sunol Regional Wilderness

June 17, 2012

hiking with the outdoor adventure club in the east bayCome visit a hidden gem in the Bay Area, Sunol Regional Wilderness. This 8-mile hike is a great hike in the East Bay any time of the year.

The hike will start with an easy climb along Alameda Creek to Little Yosemite Valley. Depending on the flow, the creek pushes over small falls and cascades through a series of rapids and pools in a scenic gorge. The fun starts here, as we will climb about 1,000 feet to the top of the park. From the top of the climb the views are outstanding.

After taking in the views, we'll drop back down Indian Joe Creek giving us a break from the sun. In the creek drainage, we can explore Cave Rocks and even scramble among the rock climbing routes that are tucked in to this great park. At the bottom of the creek, we can choose a longer walk out or ford the shallow creek and return to the cars.

Along the way your Outdoor Adventure Club guide will show you the way, keep the conversation going, and serve up a great OAC lunch, too!

Meet new friends, explore the trails with experienced guides and make this weekend count!
