Hike near Pacifica up Montara Mountain

Hike Montara Mountain near Pacifica. Just 20 minutes south of San Francisco is a secluded trail where hikers can discover divine coastal beauty and views. This moderate 7 mile hike takes you to the North Peak of Montara Mountain at 1930 feet. You will have a lunch spot with a view! The steady 3 mile climb at the beginning of the hike is rewarded with sweeping lookouts of the Pacific and Farallon Islands. On the way back, hike past a fern filled canyon and a hidden waterfall.

Hiking time should be about 3-4 hours, but with blister and view stops, we could be on the trail for 4.5+ hours. We’ll meet at 9:30 am at the trailhead, and finish around 2-3 pm.

This hike is fairly easy for anyone with good fitness. There is a significant climb, but it's gradual. Give us a call or email if you have any questions about your fitness for this hike.
