Hike the Woodward Valley Loop in Point Reyes

April 8 and August 12, 2012

Hiking Woodward ValleyJoin us on this new OAC hike in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore in the North Bay.

Our hike on the Woodward Valley Loop offers the total package - beautiful forests, remote beaches, open meadows, flowing creeks and awesome ocean views all the way to the Farallon Islands. For this 12-mile hike, we will start at the Bear Valley Trail, climb to 1,260 feet, winding through Douglas fir forests along one of the lushest trails in the park, then along the coastline where we will break for lunch at secluded Sculptured Beach. We will also visit Arch Rock before taking a gentle grade hike back to the Bear Valley Visitor Center.

Because of the distance and evelevation gain, hikers should be in good physical condition and comfortable hiking long distances. This is not recommended for first time hikers. Plan to spend a full day out on the trail.

Along the way your Outdoor Adventure Club guide will show you the way, keep the conversation going, and serve up a great OAC lunch, too!
