Hike Mount St. Helena in Stevenson State Park

This is a new hike for the Outdoor Adventure Club!

 

Summit Mount St. Helena near Calistoga in the North Bay! Mount St. Helena is reaches 4,304 feet making it the highest peak accessible by trail in the Bay Area. The hike is considered strenuous due to the steady climb and 11.2 miles of trail out and back. However, the hard work is rewarded by majestic views from the peak. On a clear day you can see the skyscrapers on San Francisco to the south and Lassen Peak to the north.

 

Along the way, you'll see rock formations jutting from the hillside, manzanita and seasonal wildflowers, and you may even catch a glimpse of peregrine falcons, which nest in the park. We'll also serve up a delicious picnic lunch along the way.

 

Meet new friends, explore the trails with experienced guides and make this weekend count!

Specific driving directions for the trip will come with your confirmed reservation.

 

Includes:

  • A professional guide, certified as a Wilderness First Responder
  • A map of the area
  • Great lunch on the hike- let us know if you have any dietary considerations
  • A carpool list so you can arrange rides to the trip

You'll need to bring:

A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:

  • Clothes appropriate for the weather (avoid wearing cotton)
  • Appropriate footwear
  • 2 liters of water
  • A small daypack to hold your water and spare clothing layers
  • Sunscreen
