Hike the "Lakes Loop" on Mt Tamalpais in Marin

Hiking trip in Marin Come join your OAC friends as we loop our way through 10 miles of beautiful hiking in Marin. The high point of our hike will be the summit of Mt Tam, with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and Marin.

Our hike starts at Lake Lagunitas and climbs steadily up the north side of Mt Tam, until we reach the summit area. an optional side trip will take us to the summit itself. After taking in the views, we'll continue along the summit ridge, before starting back downhill to complete the ten mile loop.

The distance for the trail is about 10 miles, and climbs just over 2000 feet as it works its way up Mt Tam, making this a solid intermediate hike.

Along the way your Outdoor Adventure Club guide will show you the way, keep the conversation going, and serve up a great OAC lunch, too!

You'll need to bring:

A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:

Clothes appropriate for the weather (avoid wearing cotton)
Appropriate footwear
2 liters of water
A small daypack to hold your water and spare clothing layers
Trailhead parking fee of $6 per vehicle (carpool!)
