Hike Rancho Del Oso to Berry Creek Falls in Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Hiking to Berry Creek Falls Join us on this adventurous 12-mile out and back hike on the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail. This hike starts at the ocean near Waddell Creek and takes us all the way to Berry Creek Falls in Big Basin Redwoods State Park. We'll hike through creekside groves of maple and alder, and forests of redwood trees and Douglas fir to the secluded redwood canyon where Berry Creek Falls cascade more than 60 feet in a single sheer drop.

This trip is not difficult with reasonable ups and downs and elevation gain but is a long 12 miles, so you should be in good hiking shape to take on this full day of hiking.

Along the way your Outdoor Adventure Club guide will show you the way, keep the conversation going, and serve up a great OAC lunch on the trail.

You'll need to bring:

A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:

Clothes appropriate for the weather (avoid wearing cotton)
Appropriate footwear
2 liters of water
A small daypack to hold your water and spare clothing layers
Sunscreen
Be prepared for $10 per car entrance fee to the park depending on where we can park our cars
