Raft the North Fork of the American River plus optional camping Saturday night

May 15-16, 2010

rafting north fork americanThis is a truly memorable and classic Northern California run! We're predicting strong, fast flows this time of year, which should allow us to double up and run the river twice in one day. You'll be able to hit your favorite rapids twice.

As an early season special, we will have the option to camp at Pirate's Cove Saturday night and join in for a pot luck dinner and breakfast. You also have the option to add a second day of rafting on Sunday, too.

The American is a Wild and Scenic River that comes alive in the spring. With the snow pack we've had this year, the river will be running strong. Towering cliffs and 2,000 foot canyon walls make this one of the most beautiful Northern California river canyons.

The North Fork of the American is an awesome Class 4 ride that will have you clinging to your paddle as you experience drops such as Chamberlain Falls, and ultimately grinning from ear to ear.

Even though this is a Class 4 run and some experience is generally recommended, many athletic beginners have started on this river and have become hooked! Our experienced guides will provide paddling instruction and guidance, and make sure you enjoy your day.

Meet at 9:00 a.m. in Colfax, off Hwy 80 East of Auburn. Finish mid to late afternoon.
