Rafting on the Yuba, North ForkApril 18, 2010
It is a fantastic Class 4+ run that has 2 miles of introduction class 2-3 rapids and beautiful scenery. The first class 4 rapid is “Ramshorn” that has two distinct channels shaped like horns and that is followed by “Two Pair” another wet class 4. Then comes the infamous Maytag rapid, a class 5 which we get out and scout. If anyone is not feeling up to it you can easy walk around.
Shortly after is Son of Maytag and the rest of the river is class 3 whitewater to the take out. The trip takes around 4 hrs with lunch.
This river is great for experienced rafters and enthusiastic, adventurous people who are new to rafting. We get a good warmup on easier rapids before we reach the serious rapids, and if you feel like the class V rapids are too much for you, you'll have the option of hiking around it. It's definitely a fun day on the river for all!
Wet suits are recommended and we have them available for you upon request. Where is this trip? Here's a Google Map to the general area
Specific driving directions for the trip will come with your confirmed reservation.
