Rock Climber's Multi Pitch Techniques Class at Castle Rock

You've learned to lead, and now you're ready to tackle the next step in climbing. Multi-pitch climbing. Let the professional climbing guides of the Outdoor Adventure Club show you the way to take this next step armed with the best modern techniques to maximize your climbing efficiency rock climbing mulit pitch classand fun, while managing the risks involved.

 

 

In this full day class, we'll teach the following skills:

  • Multi-directional anchors for multi pitch climbing
  • Belaying a follower from above- using a Munter, Grigri, and autoblocking device
  • Rope management at belay stations
  • Efficient leader changes
  • Multi pitch rappel techniques
  • An introduction to self-rescue techniques
  • Several tips and tricks to make your climbing more efficient

As with all our climbing courses this is a hands on day. This isn't just a demonstration- you'll get a chance to practice each technique outlined in the course.


This is a full day class. Outdoor Adventure Club guides aren't watching their watches. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your day, and we routinely stay on the rock later than any other guide service or school in the bay area. The combination of our guides' training and their commitment to your day makes the Outdoor Adventure Club the best value for your climbing education.

 

Prerequisites:

Technically, there are no prerequisites for this class, as most of the day is spent working on techniques that occur at belay stations. Climbers who have anchoring and some lead climbing experience, either indoors or outside will most likely find the material easier to digest, though.
